The objective of this study is to investigate how the use of mobile technology devices affect the face-to-face interactions among college teachers. The research was carried out using researcher-made questionnaire distributed to 41 faculty members of Batangas State University. Statistical treatment of data include mean, t-test, ANOVA and and Pearson’s r. Results revealed that there is no significant difference in the frequency daily mobile technology device usage when grouped according to profile variables. Moreover, is an overall negative effect of mobile technology usage in doing daily tasks on the face-to-face interactions among teachers. Lastly, there is a negative correlation between the respondents’ mobile technology device usage and quality of face-to-face interactions based on Pearson’s correlation coefficient of -0.366 with a corresponding probability value of 0.019.

Information and communication technology are now on its way in engulfing the nature of work in 21st century era. Teaching nowadays is coupled with the skills in ICT. Clerical processes such as printing, typing, installing, sending reports, making presentations, computing grades and others are teaching related job. These processes require ICT skills enabling teachers to adapt to the changing context of teaching-learning process. This research endeavor aimed to find out the level of ICT skills of the Junior High School Faculty of Tagumpay National High School. The study utilized mixed method design. Descriptive-Correlation was used in getting the level of ICT skills and its relationship and qualitative design to get the perception of respondents in terms of human relations. Mean, Standard deviation, frequency percentage and eta correlation and pearson r were the statistical tools utilized in this research. The study revealed that most of the respondents are belong to age range from 25-29. The highest educational attainment of respondents is Master’s degree and most of them have master’s unit. The respondents’ level of basic hardware and software skills is excellent. It also showed that there is no significant relationship between the profile and teachers’ basic and software skills. With the correlation coefficient value of 0.777 and sig value of 0.000 in terms of relationship of basic hardware and software skills signifies that there is high correlation and significant relationship. With respect to developing human relations, ICT can be an avenue to communicate and collaborate between colleagues and it. ICT tools must not be used only for teachers’ clerical work, it should be integrated on the teaching learning process to maximize the ICT skills of teachers.

Learning is a process which brings out change in the individual’s way of responding as an outcome of practice or other experience. It is also a process by which knowledge is obtained. Learning occurs when a person comes to know something previously unknown. The more learning is enriched when the factors of a learning environment are responsibly present. The educational principle suggests that pupils who are actively engaged in the learning process are more likely to achieve success. Once the pupils are actively engaged in their own learning process, they begin to feel empowered and their personal achievement and self-direction level rise. This experimental study aimed to determine the effectiveness of learning styles-based differentiated instruction on the academic achievement of grade five pupils in Science and Health V of Timoteo Paez Elementary School in the Division of City Schools, Pasay City, Philippines for the school year 2014 – 2015. This study employed the randomized pre-test-posttest control group design. The data gathering instruments that was utilized were the VARK Learning Style Inventory and a validated teacher-made test. The data generated from the research instruments were recorded, analyzed, and interpreted using the weighted mean, standard deviation, One-Way Analysis of Variance, and Independent T-test. In the context of the findings of the study, the following conclusions and implications were drawn. Pupils have different learning styles; they may be Visual, Aural, Read/Write and Kinesthetic. The mean pretest scores of the control and the experimental groups were not significant. The academic achievement of the posttest of the pupils taught in Science and Health V using learning styles-based differentiated instruction was found to be significant. Likewise, the learning styles-based differentiated instruction is effective in developing the scientific abilities of the pupils. This implies that learning styles-based differentiated instruction is effective in improving academic standing of the pupils. Further, it is effective in improving the academic standing of the pupils. Recommendations were raised based on the findings of the study.

Inquiry-Based Learning Approach (IBLA) in Catholic, Basic Education has an enormous effect that would exemplify its importance in Secondary Science Subjects. This approach establishes itself from other Constructivist guided approaches in the case that teachers carefully scaffold the students as they challenge them with new scientific materials. [1] In this article, we will discuss the effect of articulation of Inquiry-Based Learning Approach in Science seven along with the pretest and post-test prepared by the researcher and was validated by experts in the field. This quasi-experimental research will reveal the great influence of the Inquiry-Based Learning Approach over Non-Inquiry-Based Learning Approach in the scientific literacy of the students. This quasi-experimental research was designed to evaluate the articulation of inquiry-based learning approach in Science 7 along with the pre-test and post-test which were prepared by the researcher and was validated by experts in the field, and was implemented. There were two groups which were classified as Inquiry-Based Learning Group (IBLAG) and the Non-Inquiry-Based Learning Group (NIBLAG). Each group was composed of thirty (30) grade seven students of San Felipe Neri Catholic School (SFNPS). The researcher utilized purposive random sampling in choosing the participants. This was determined by their Science second quarter/previous grade. Consequently, the respondents’ previous grade in the quarter determined their group. Mean Score, Weighted Mean, t-Test Independent and t-Test Dependent were utilized in the analysis of the data gathered. The statistical tests were performed using the Cronbach’s Alpha and VASSARSTAT. The data revealed the significant difference between pre-test and post-test of the Inquiry-based learning (IBLA), which is 5.84 that lead to the rejection of the null hypothesis and for the non-inquiry-based learning approach a mean value of 1.63 considering setting α at 0.05. The findings revealed the great influence of the Inquiry-Based learning approach in the scientific literacy of the students. Thus, the researchers recommend that teachers should be exposed to these teaching methods through seminars on this topic to enhance their skills and knowledge on how to implement the Inquiry-Based method/approach in the classroom.

This study was anchored from Item-Response Theory, which conducted an item analysis on the developed School Achievement Test (SAT) in Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction for Senior High School learners. The study that employed descriptive-comparative research design utilized twenty-four Grade 12 learners taking up General Academic Strand (GAS) of Batch 2020 who took the subject during the second semester of the past school year, 2018-2019.
The researcher created 120-item test based on the desired learning competencies of the subject Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction, a special core subject in the Senior High School Curriculum. The questions were subjected to validity and reliability analyses using different statistical formula: Mean, Standard Deviation, Standard Error of the Mean (SEM), Upper-Lower Formula, and Split-half reliability.
As a result of the analyses, the test obtained 72.58 mean score and 3.64 standard error measurement, and would expect 95% test takers test score to vary from 68.94 to 76.22 score. Also, an acceptable 0.818 reliability coefficient was obtained based on the reliability analysis. The item analysis result reveals that 51 items have difficulty index in the range of 0.3 to 0.7 and 69 items have discrimination index of greater than 0.2. In finality, 42 items should be retained, 27 items should be revised, and 51 items to be rejected.
Based on the results and conclusions drawn from the study, it is suggested that a more comprehensive validation process may be applied to further validate the developed SAT like item-bias analysis. Also, it is proposed that policies and standards regarding test construction and validation be implemented to produce valid, reliable and bias-free test items, which will serve as item banks.Keywords

The present world is calling for an immediate large-scale transformation in educational process impacted by the pandemic COVID-19. Many institutions concluded to online learning as an instant remedy to keep educating learners outside school. Despite the advantages learners can gain from this method, it cannot be denied that numerous studies have revealed problems associated with low levels of preparedness and capabilities of learners exposed to online learning, resulting to high drop outs. Relatively, this study explored on learners’ readiness to Online Teaching and Learning (OTL) of Dela Paz National High School in Antipolo City, Philippines. The survey determines level of readiness in terms of technology accessibility, technological confidence, support, and training, and attitude of learners towards success of OTL as adapted from a survey questionnaire, which was further developed electronically, validated and tested for usability by IT and content experts.
Seventy-four respondents were randomly selected from the population of Junior and Senior High School learners of Dela Paz National High School enrolled during school year 2019-2020. Data was collected and subjected to statistical analysis for interpretation.
The responses imply that both levels of learners are ready to be engaged in online teaching-learning as they have access to gadgets with internet connection. In terms of confidence, skills, and social support, the results give an impression of positive readiness level to online education, however, it was noted that in terms of trainings, they have to be provided with intervention strategies to prepare them for using LMS. For assessing learners’ attitude, the two-group respondents manifested confidence towards successful OTL sharing the same perception on study habits, abilities, motivation and usefulness, except for time management. This can be attributed to the difference on the number of tasks needed to be accomplished by the learners at home, school, etc.
The researcher recommends that the specifics pointed in the results obtained be used by school administrators and teachers for planning and management of OTL.Keywords

A good relationship amongst colleagues to develop and improve himself or herself for the betterment of the institution. Collegiality is a relationship that enables the instructors and supervisors work as one without any conflicts in a non – intimidating environment that could help the institution to address the issues through sharing of thoughts and ideas. The objective of this study is to investigate the application of collegial supervision by using comic strips as an instructional material in teaching History and Philosophy of Science to students. The focus is on the collaborative effort of the instructors and supervisors in creation of the material for student learning. The research was carried out using researcher – made questionnaire distributed to 30 teacher respondents who were equally divided into Science and Non – science majors. Statistical treatment included frequency, percentage and T – test. Results revealed that there was a significant difference between the views and opinions of Science and Non – science major instructors and supervisors based on the computed T – values. The study recommended that practicing collegial supervision on the field creates an encouraging environment to both the instructors and supervisors to assist each other. It was suggested as a means to determine each strengths and weaknesses to aid in the improvement of teaching and supervisory skills. The study also recommended trainings, workshops and seminars for both instructors and supervisors.

Misconceptions are the obstacles in meaningful learning most especially in Science. It is proven that the Philippines have low performance in terms of Science assessment in the previous years. One of the noticeable reasons in this issue is the misconceptions that held by students which are not scientifically accepted. This study analyzed the misconceptions of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics students of Lian Senior High School in the school year 2020-2021about the concepts related to the first topic of their General Chemistry 1 subject, matter or material and its properties. It includes the sources of learning Science concepts and the frequency and percentage analysis. The researcher made use of a descriptive-quantitative research design for the study. The online survey technique using Google Forms was used as a data collection tool. The statistical treatments that used in this study were mean, frequency and percentage. To interpret the test results, mean, frequency and percentage were used. The mean gain also used to determine the most effective virtual activities to be developed for the students. In terms of sources of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics students in learning concepts in science, it was determined that school teaching with an average weighted mean of 3.85 has the greatest influence in the students learning of science concepts. On the frequency and percent analysis related to material and its properties, it can be noticed that most of the student-respondents’ answer the questions with misconceptions incorrectly. Thus, the result signifies that Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics students need intervention and/or activities that may correct and enhance their concepts and understanding about matter and its properties. Also, the study recommends science teachers for both elementary and junior high school may attend trainings and seminars that involves enhancing the science concepts or addressing sciences misconceptions.

Concepts can be considered as ideas, thoughts or viewpoint that help us understand the phenomena of the world. These concepts should be factual and reliable or else it will lead into misconceptions. Misconceptions, on the other hand can be described as ideas that provide an incorrect understanding of such ideas, objects or events that are constructed based on a person’s experience, preconceived notions, non- scientific beliefs and theories, mixed conception and conceptual misunderstandings. Teachers are responsible in correcting the misconceptions of the students to remove confusions among ideas. Researchers have long speculated that a teacher’s knowledge of common student misconceptions could be crucial to student learning. Consisting a central and unifying base for all biological fields, theory of evolution is a comprehensive subject that plays an important role in understanding the origin of mankind and the changes that happens in the world. The study was intended to examine the Biology teachers’ understanding about evolution. The results of the study will contribute towards the learning community and contributory to the existing body of literature. It would be beneficial for the curriculum developers of teacher educators. It will also be advantageous to teacher trainers and to the Department of Education for its faculty development program. This research aims to identify the misconceptions of science teachers in Biology particularly in Evolution. The study was conducted with 54 science teachers in one of the cities in Metro Manila, Philippines. The mixed-method approach was chosen for the study wherein quantitative data was collected through online google form with 92% retrieval rate from the chosen respondents. A multiple-choice identification test consisting of questions from Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics and Biology adopted from the research of Biilent and Esra study. The 25 items each survey was pilot tested with the 35 science teachers in public schools in Pasig City, Philippines. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient was found to be .971 to test the coefficient of reliability or consistency of the questions in the survey while the qualitative data was collected from the focus group discussion.Keywords

As career choice gives impact to learner’s future, his inclination to a certain object or particular thing guides him basically on what he wants to do or accomplish throughout a lifetime. This study analyzed career choices made by the respondents and their motivation in choosing their choice. The relatedness of the preferred program to their chosen program was correlated with their academic performance in Applied Chemistry. The study revealed that there was no significant correlation on the two variables used. The respondents’ preference on what career to pursue did not affect their performance. Those respondents who preferred programs not related to Food Technology still excel academically. The motivation and positive point of view of the respondents may assist together with the effective and tailored instructions that diagnosed the preferences of the respondents. The parents’ involvement and support on the respondents also helped them to look on the brighter side and therefore motivate them to pursue their studies.

This study aims to describe the teacher’s experiences in online learning curriculum development during the COVID 19 pandemic. The experiences of the teachers in online learning curriculum development were tested in terms of: workload in redesigning the curriculum; involvement in formal structures related to curriculum change; participation in professional development and learning opportunities; access of instructional materials and faculty experience. the following conclusions were drawn: (1) Faculty respondents have increased workload in redesigning the curriculum for online learning and they have received trainings and have participated in professional development and (2) Faculty respondents are uncertain if they are paid in the development of online learning materials. The researchers recommend a continuous training and participation in professional development must be done to equipped faculty in the redesigning of curriculum necessary for online learning during COVID 19.Keywords

Science education in the Philippines has significantly change through time with the advent of the K to 12 program of the department of education in response to the ASEAN integration to meet the so called demands for “quality education and global competition.” In the light of the present curriculum, science is now characterized as decongested following the spiral progression approach. The major areas of science curriculum are earth and space science, living things and their environment, matter and forces, motion and energy which was previously known as, biology, chemistry and physics. The terms might have changed and methods and approach also have been upgraded or updated but one thing is certain, and that is “the importance of a hands-on activity” or the “laboratory activities” in teaching science. Lecture method is a time-tested approach in teaching various discipline such as science and math but lecture alone is no longer effective for learners of this generation. Teachers and educators are now engaging in various techniques and strategies in order for students to construct meaning in what they learn. Technology, not to mention plays a vital role in delivering quality instruction and information, internet are a great source of information, thus saving time and energy. This paper hoped to combine laboratory activities and technology to bring about meaningful learning among students. How exactly is this possible? The current global situation served as one of the driving mechanism of this research. Various sectors such as schools are discouraged to conduct face – to – face classes this year in order to avoid the spreading of COVID -19. Online classes can be considered as the “new normal” nowadays, there are advantages and disadvantages of having such, in addition as teachers and educators we are finding ways on how to deliver the best learning experience to our students. This paper sought the help of thirty-four (34) science teachers from public and private secondary and tertiary schools to evaluate the “level of acceptability of the proposed offline-based laboratory activities in cellular respiration.” There are forty-four (44) teacher evaluators in total but ten (10) of which were used for testing first the reliability of the instrument used in this paper. They have provided valuable suggestions to further improve the instrument that will be used to evaluate the software program. The reliability test showed that the Cronbach’s alpha is .823 greater than the acceptability value of .5, which means to say that, the instrument is a valid instrument to measure the level of acceptability of the proposed offline-based laboratory activities for cellular respiration. The research made use of a descriptive quantitative methods of research and a survey questionnaire was distributed via google forms.The thirty-four teachers were asked about the type of computer/units they use for lessons and instruction, this was done in order determine if the software program will work and function best at which type of unit and operating systems. Majority of the teachers were using laptop or notebook computers with 76.47% or 26 out of 34 respondents.
There are a number of reasons why people in general chose laptop over desktop computers; portability, ease of assembly, keyboard and monitor sizes, power usage, upgrading and repair, are some of the advantages of laptop over desktop computers [1]. With the vast information found on the web, it is not surprising that the respondents of this study rated themselves “excellent” in terms of the basic computer literacy skills which coincided with their answers pertaining to basic computer and webpage browsing skills with 3.80 mean interpreted as “with high mastery,” specifically highest on “creating ppt presentation and “least skill mastered” in creating a simple database using access” with only “moderate mastery”, and a mean of 2.85. It goes to show that a significant number of respondents might not yet be fully oriented or have mastered well the designing or creating their own software program or applications for classroom instruction or laboratory use just like what the researchers of this paper did. Moreover, this paper also revealed that majority of the respondents were mostly engaged in “World Wide Web” or internet surfing with a mean of 4.97. While “blogging” ranked last among the list of applications and or activities for instruction that were used by teachers with only 2.44 mean value, they only used or did blogging for about once or twice a month for instruction and lesson purposes. The paper also shows significant value in terms of the “Overall Level of Acceptability” of the Prototype Offline- Based Laboratory Activities and result of the evaluation revealed that the teacher respondents commended the software program given the remarks of “Highly Acceptable” with an overall weighted mean of 3.71, this includes the content quality, order of presentation of activities and usability/user – friendly nature of the prototype offline – based laboratory activities in cellular respiration when all the three criteria combined respectively. Although the level of acceptability of the prototype offline-based laboratory activity was highly commendable by the science teachers, there were still a number of significant recommendations and suggestions for the improvement of this software program. To mention a few, majority of the responses were on the technical quality and presentation of the software program including the size of the texts, transition of the windows, and the most important is the system requirements of the software program which is to be most compatible but not limited to the latest and widely used operating systems there in in most laptop and even desktop computer units. In addition, cellular respiration is just part of the many pre requisite knowledge in cell biology, therefore aside from including more personalized and customized examples of the different stages; glycolysis, kreb cycle and electron transport chain, the researchers also encouraged future researchers to create their own, identifying abstract concepts and topics in cell biology like, central dogma of molecular biology and even genetics.

Thus, the objective of this study is to re-examine the curriculum design for higher education institution, which leads us to know the curriculum component of San Sebastian College- Recoletos, Manila towards curriculum enhancement. In the introduction of the study, it was clearly emphasized that meta analysis is a method for systematically combining quantitative and qualitative data from several selected studies. With the purpose of identifying concrete answers from questions pertaining to the curriculum of the school. The quantitative data analysis is the method use for finalizing results gathered from students. This includes their honest thoughts about questions pertaining to the curriculum. The end results will be looking at the hard data-the number figures, which are converted into percentages to be able to determine the bulk results to the questions given and be able to evaluate and make an assessment. Likewise, the qualitative method has been administered to the area chairpersons, in order to know more about their concerns in the construction of their respective curriculum, since using the qualitative method analysis can mean subjective concerns and thoughts, geared towards possible curriculum improvements.
The researchers have done the best possible way on how to reach out to the alumni and area chairpersons who are the main respondents of this study. Thankfully, they were able to get a good number of respondents, who willingly answered the questions given to them. The results from the answers were carefully collated, evaluated, and interpreted. Thus, the results can explain the logic of this study. It is in the conclusion where the researchers have explained further the assessment on the experimental results. A good insight from the qualitative results of the area chairpersons is about confirming their intemtions of making possible revisions in their curriculum, if the conditions calls for it. However, at the moment they have told the researchers that they have their reasons on why they have to stick first to the present curriculum, and be more vigilant for possible changes or improvements. The over-all impact of the study showed that the curriculum of SSC-R is subject centered, which is more focused and concerned on the needs of students for their adaptability in the outside world.

Therefore, it is imperative to develop strategies that can provide the motivation for appropriate policy changes, highlight health concerns, and generate knowledge that can be used to support principals’ occupational health and well-being. This study aims to support school principals of Lian District and enhance their job performance through determining the challenges and issues they encountered in supervision. It is important to consider various factors that affect their performance as leaders and managers of the school as this may determine the extent to which they are able to contribute effectively to improving student achievement and school performance. It includes survey of the challenges and issues encountered by the principals in terms of relation to teachers, external challenges, recognition and growth and other issues concerning supervision. The researcher made use of descriptive-quantitative and qualitative research design for the study. The online survey technique using Google Forms was used as a data collection tool. The statistical treatments that used in this study were mean, ranking, frequency, and percentage. As a result, in terms of challenges encountered in relation to teachers, teacher resistance to change received the highest mean from the respondents. Then, in external challenges pressure in adapting to new programs becomes the first in the rank. Likewise, few opportunities for them to learn and grow are the highest challenges in recognition and growth of the principals. Also, there are three major themes of issues and challenges they encountered, namely: teacher resistance to change, overlapping of schedules and conduct of post conferences. A proposed action plan was made by the researcher to better support the issues and challenges encountered by Lian district principals.Keywords

For many decades, scientists and philosophers strived hard to bring to the world the knowledge of things beyond earth and beyond our naked eyes – space science. How interesting it is to know that our planet is not alone in this “solar system” and earth is just one of many planets that revolve around the center of the solar system, our star, the sun. The moon as our planet’s natural satellite and constant companion even has its own characteristics and motion. Thanks to the great people behind all these discoveries, people have the sources of information based on scientific evidences and facts. The fascination that we have right now maybe comparable to that of the earlier generation or even more but with lack of sophisticated instruments and gadgets, one would wonder, how exactly people of the earlier times studied astronomy or the vast night sky just to bring about what we knew today? Superstitious beliefs are beliefs that is not based on human reason and is a non-scientific knowledge, but is connected with old ideas about magic, supernatural, etc. which was held true and acceptable by the earlier generation and was passed on through their ancestors. For instance, the belief that a full moon or Friday the 13th has some negative vibes or bad omen, an eclipse may signify an upcoming deluge and many other beliefs. Surprisingly, different countries and or region have different superstitious beliefs on astronomy or space science. For example, Russian cosmonaut Sergey Prokopyev did something odd before a space flight in Kazakhstan on June 6, 2018, the bus transporting the space crew to the launch would stop, and the male crewmembers will urinate on the back-right tire of their ride. Apparently, female crewmembers splash urine from a cup onto the [1]. Another example showing superstitious beliefs in space science was that of Indian origin, ISRO Chairman K. Radhakrishnan with wife Padmini comes out of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala in Tirupati after offering prayers for the successful launch of PSLV-C25 India's maiden mission to the Mars [2]. Lastly, the early Filipinos used the stars to determine the best conditions for fishing and seafaring. In Tawi-Tawi, the Big Dipper was more than just a constellation resembling a fish trap. The Sama people turned to this to determine whether fishing will yield bountiful results. [3]. This paper sought to understand and explain the influences of superstitious beliefs to the teaching and learning of astronomy, and suggest the superstitious beliefs about astronomy that students and teachers know and in order to address the misconceptions and or alternative conceptions brought about by superstitious beliefs in astronomy. In order to gather significant data and information this paper applied the descriptive evaluative research design and quantitative approach to investigate on the superstitious beliefs’ influences on the teaching and learning astronomy.
A researcher-made questionnaire was designed and its reliability was tested using the Cronbach’s alpha. A total of 154 respondents, composed of 43 science teachers that were purposively chosen and 111 students from different schools that were randomly selected. The questionnaire has two (2) parts, the first part is a checklist survey table and second part were an open-ended question primarily for teacher’s suggestions or plan of instruction on how to address the misconceptions on astronomy brought by superstitious beliefs. This paper revealed that both the students and teachers were very much familiar with the different superstitious beliefs about space science with an overall percentage of 74.5. However only 25.5% of the total respondents when combined, were not familiar with the given phenomena on space science that are superstitious in nature. Based on the answers of the teachers, their concept of space science was more positively influenced with an overall weighted mean of 3.27 compared to its negative counterpart with only 3.01. Teachers strongly agreed to the fact that, “Learners, although brought with them some misconceptions due to the superstitious beliefs become more eager to know and prove their prior knowledge through research and teacher interaction. (e.g seek teacher’s guidance on addressing misconceptions).” Moreover, teachers strongly agree to the fact that, “Some stories that learners were told at an early age creates misconceptions about how the universe and earth formed. (e.g. bathala).” Concepts on bathala was taught in araling panlipunan and students used this learning as valuable in natural science even though it is not based on scientific evidence. In general, the teachers were positive that they can do something to address the misconceptions in space science brought about by superstitious beliefs and create an avenue for learners to explore, be creative and informative as well as give meaningful learning experiences that are factual and based on scientific evidence. Throughout the tedious research and gathering of information, the researchers were able to find out that there were a lot of superstitious beliefs about astronomy in the Philippines but only a few study and related researches were conducted. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to explore and expand the research local to the entire Philippines, documenting how these superstitious beliefs greatly affect not only our concept of space science but also our way of living; biology, chemistry, environmental science and other branches of natural science.

Having to look into the welfare of our students should be one of the primary concerns of teachers. This reason prompted then the authors to come up with a research study, signifying the remarkable learnings of the chosen alumni from san sebastian college-recoletos, manila. The study focuses on the type of a major philosophical thought which is pragmatism, where the pedagogical approach is in teaching the students about enhancing their skills in hands-on activities, like experimentation, research works, documentations and projects, and even in practicing them in certain drills and simulations. The subject concerned here is all about the different sciences taken up and learned enthusiastically by our students, like biology, earth science, and zoology. They all graduated with different courses, but science had been an integral part of their way of life, since they were able to incorporate their learnings in school to the outside world. This study then is a summation on how philosophy has been looked up in such a way that a major philosophical thought had been chosen, in line with the pedagogical approach, because of the reason that it is still observed and existing nowadays. Whatever has been taught in the past years, in line with pragmatism, has been applied by our students in their present works or jobs at the present time. Those who are not working right now have incorporated the knowledge, skills, and values from the hands-on learnings from certain activities in the school, as applied in their day to day routinary activities in life. The statement of the problem tried to confirm whether these graduates have truly enhanced their knowledge, skills, and attitudes, using the pedagogical approach. This part of the study has been confirmed through the use of the survey questionnaires that were emailed to each of the respondents, where the likert scale was used, which acted as the scoring range in the survey. The weighted mean and standard deviation was also analyzed in order to come up with a concrete evaluation of the learnings of the graduates. The concluding part was more of confirming the validity of the study in having to adapt pragmatism, even during the present time, since it can effectively hone the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of students, as long as they will always be guided accordingly and effectively.Keywords

Supervision is essential in education for teachers to be guided in the performance of their job. Henceforth, for improvement in the teaching-learning process, the supervision style of headteachers needs to be evaluated. This study examined the perception of the science teachers on the synergistic supervision style of the science headteacher in a public secondary school. Moreover, the correlation between synergistic supervision and job performance was validated. There are four components in synergistic supervision, namely dual focus, joint effort, focus on competence, and two-way communication. Results revealed that the science teachers were often satisfied with the components' dual focus, focus on competence, and joint effort. For two way communication, the headteacher's rating given by the teachers was seldom satisfied. The level of job satisfaction of teachers was also studied. Results showed that teachers were often satisfied with their job. The Individual Performance Commitment and Review Form (IPCRF) became the basis for evaluation for science teachers' job performance. Based on the IPCRF, the ratings revealed that the science teachers performed their job very satisfactorily. Statistical analysis showed that there is no association between the components of synergistic supervision and job performance.

There are so many precautionary measures to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 to prevent the spread. One of the precautionary measures of all the countries worldwide is the shutdown of physical classes that shifts to virtual classes to cope up with the prevention of the spread. This study was conducted to assess the readiness of the students of the College of Education on the implementation of Flexible Learning Delivery Mode on the First Semester of SY 2020-2021. The conduct of this study was deemed to be of utmost necessity brought about by the need of educational institutions to adapt to the “new normal” in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Results of this study are intended to serve as a basis and guide for the administrators- the College of Education officials in particular, in terms of decision making relative to the loading of the faculty members, scheduling of classes and developing possible programs to support the University’s endeavors on the conduct of Flexible Learning System Delivery. Most frequent number of reasons for not pursuing enrolment in the said semester is due to lack of resources, safety precautions and health risks. However, the majority still would want to pursue studies because tuitions and miscellaneous fees are free.

PISA result is also corresponding to the learners’ performance in the National Achievement Test, DepEd realizes the pressure of addressing the issues and gaps in attaining the quality of primary education in the Philippines. Therefore, to improve the educational system in the country, the Department of Education (DepEd) continuously implements innovations, particularly in science, where different programs and curricula introduce to appraise the educational standards. Educators have worked on different instructional materials to upgrade the quality of education. Various instructional materials need efficient and enjoyable learning and teaching engagement.
In this generation, everything that one wants to know and get is just one click away. The education also must cope with the fast-changing world where everything revolves in the Digital World, so the Instructional Material also must be digital in form. Digital Game-Based Learning is a kind of method where students learn through mobile devices. In this study, the researchers developed Digital Game-Based Learning in teaching Physics topics such as sound, heat, and light using the ADDIE Model. The development of DGBL was evaluated by 120 Grade 7 students from one of the Laboratory Schools in Metro Manila. After series of development, the study revealed that the students strongly agree that the Digital Game-Based Learning in teaching Physics 7 is easy to use, efficient, appropriate and appealing, relevant, have correct procedures, the contents are appropriate, there are organization and presentation of the material, and the activities are enjoyable. However, there are still problems encountered like the inability to have their android phone for Digital Game-Based Learning.

This study was conducted to determine the significant relationship with the academic performance of the learners and the use of home-based instructional materials as an avenue for teaching English subject for Grade 8 English learners of San Francisco High School.
The proponents used a descriptive research of a correlation type in determining the respondents’ academic performance in given tasks using the home-based instructional materials.
The findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between academic performance of the learners and the use of home-based instructional materials. Hence, the following conclusions are drawn: (1) The use of home-based instructional materials could be of great help for the instances where classes would be suspended due to given weather conditions or holiday seasons; (2) English learning could grow better for the learners as they be exposed with technology-based materials aside from the traditional means of giving school-based activities; and (3) An increase in learners’ attention may also be drawn as an effect of their exposure to varied learning materials which may be done also from the comforts of their home. With that, the following are hereby recommended: (1) Teachers must plan ahead on the materials to prepare for the home-based instructional materials especially during conditions where classes may be suspended due to environmental factors such weather conditions or even special holidays being implemented or observed in the country or even in the city where the school is located; (2) Learners must be given awareness as to the importance of this efforts being done by the teachers to address the need for continues learning as this would be a better opportunity to maintain focus in the lessons of the given subject matter; (3) Parents, must also be oriented about the use of home-based instructional materials and their significant role at home by ensuring follow-up monitoring and engagement of learner’s preparation of the given tasks. It can also be a bonding time for the parents with their child to work on the given tasks anchored in the day’s lesson; and (4) A parallel study may be conducted in order to expound further the ideas presented in this research endeavor for the welfare of the learners of the 21st century.

The aim of the study was to develop a two-tier multiple-choice quality assessment tool based from the views of teachers. The study employed descriptive design with qualitative analysis. The researchers interviewed and employed the test to science teachers who specialize physics, biology and chemistry. The researchers utilized 15 multiple-choice tests about motion have been validated by experts. The result shows alternative conceptions on force and motion are the definition of nonzero value and how to interpret graphs of motion, whether it is distance, velocity or acceleration time graph. The study suggests that getting views, whether teachers or students prior to testing, is a big help in doing a quality assessment tool. Ping this test, firstly, content boundaries, learning objectives and alternative conceptions were identified.Keywords

Science is a body of knowledge that is systematically acquired. It is done through processes and the minimum required skills are the basic science process skills. These skills are utilized to generate factual data. The study aimed to determine the level of science process skills from various strands of senior high school. The study employed descriptive comparative design. It was participated by 50 grade 11 students came from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), General Academic Strand (GAS), Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), and Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM). The study utilized a teacher made test consisting of 60 questions constituting six science process skills that are observing, classifying, measuring, communicating, inferring and predicting. There are ten questions allotted to each science process skill. The instrument was validated by experts in the field of science. The Cronbach’s alpha value is 0.925 which denotes that the teacher made test is reliable. The study used descriptive comparative design. About 50 students were utilized as respondents of the research. Mean and standard deviation were utilized to get the level of science process skills. Analysis of variance was used to get the differences on science process skills of students on various strands. The study revealed that level of science process skills falls on satisfactory level. It also revealed that there are significant differences on the level of science process skills of respondents when they were grouped according to strand. It is highly encouraged that lessons in science class must always target specific science process skills and it should be integrated across the disciplines.

These can be considered as enabling factors to continually expose and involved our young ones in resolving the deteriorating condition of our environment and sustain the programs for restoring the Earth where every living thing live, otherwise where all of us would go once it become totally smashed. Everyone must work hand in hand to save the Earth. It’s not yet late to act.

This study explored the Influence of School Heads Competence and Qualifications to the School Performance. This quantitative research utilized Descriptive-correlational and determined 48 School heads from Elementary and Secondary schools in Narra District, Narra, Palawan, Philippines. A self-completed questionnaire developed by the researchers was administered to gather the school heads’ profile and school’s performance. Mean, percentage, and standard deviation was used in analyzing the school heads’ profile and the school’s performance while the Pearson correlation was employed to test the relationship of the research’s variables. Results showed that in terms of the profile, majority of the respondents were graduates of bachelor’s degree with units in master’s program and almost half of them have international level of training while more than half were Principal III and have 4 to 7 years of practice as school head. In terms of their performance in the last three years, both in the years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019, the school heads obtained a very satisfactory performance and outstanding performance in the year 2019-2020. Both in the school years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019, the schools in Narra District obtained a maturing level. However, in the school year 2019-2020, the schools in Narra District got a rating, which was described as advanced level. It was found out also that there was no significant relationship between the school heads’ profile and the school performance was established. The result lead to recommendation to strengthen the school-based management areas where the schools obtained a maturing level while sustain the current level of practice in the SBM areas where they obtained an advanced level.

One of the salient features of the Senior High School curriculum is that every student in this recent generation is prepared for their future career and ready to face challenges. The success of this endeavor is believed to be measured by the graduates' alignment of the high school strand and the course they have to pursue in college. There is however a noticeable situation in which students enroll in college courses that are not associated with their track or strand of senior high school. One of the major reasons that some students lose interest in college is the gap between their high school experiences and their college expectations which is the subject of this study. To determine whether there was a mismatch between the enrolled strand of the students who graduated from SY 2017 – 2018 to SY 2018 – 2019 and their enrolled courses in college, descriptive research methodology was utilized. The mismatch rate is high between the strand of the learners during their senior high school and the course they enrolled in college. It is revealed that for the school year 2017-2018 the rate of mismatch is thirty-nine percent (39%) and thirty-one percent (31%) for the SY 2018-2019. Family pressure, accessibility of the program in the nearby university, and friends and peer pressure are the topmost among the reasons cited by students who did not take the college course align with their strand. Implementation of an enhanced career guidance program, policy brief, and intensified monitoring and evaluation are recommended.

Every school or cluster of schools is led by a school head who is prepared, monitored, and made accountable for organizing and leading an institutionalized school improvement process at the school level as mandated in the Republic Act No. 9155, Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001. By maximizing the skills and abilities of school heads to improve educational efficiency, in particular the standard of teaching and learning through the practice of instructional supervision, these skills can be improved to build efficient human resources that can make a difference in the educational system. This paved the way to conduct this study which aims to determine the extent of interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills of 48 school heads in the Narra school districts, Narra, Palawan, Philippines using a total enumeration sampling technique. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire and were analyzed using frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, eta correlation, and t-test. Results revealed that school heads’ interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills were both perceived by the school themselves and their teachers as evident. Findings also showed that there were significant associations between the school head’s profile in terms of their present position and their manifested leadership skill in initiating action, school heads’ profile in terms of the present position and their manifested supervisory skill in decision making, and school heads’ profile in terms of the number of teachers supervised and their manifested supervisory skill in planning and organizing, which all suggests a weak association between these variables. It is recommended that since the school heads’ interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills were evident, these skills must be intensified for it to achieve a level of very much evident.

Multimedia is increasingly being used in a number of formats (text, graphics, audio, animation, and video) to enhance human-computer interactions. The challenge is how to use the most successful presentation style which will boost efficiency. One of which is the use of a digital application namely Powtoon. The goal of this study was to define the teachers' perspective on developing Powtoon-based video media, the efficiency of developed Powtoon-based video media, and the efficacy of Powtoon based video media to improve learning outcomes in science teaching. A descriptive method of research was used to evaluate the perspective of the teachers in terms of learning resource, student engagement and inclusion of learning. A test of difference on the perspective of the teachers on the instructional video in terms of overall production, timing and content was tested. The result shows that there is no significant difference on their perspective in overall production and timing, however, in content, a significant difference was result. The study further imply that the use of video in education will improve the learning to the learners if it was utilized properly.

Access to learning materials poses a greater challenge to the educational community since learning must continue even with the risks of covid-19 pandemic. The Philippines’ Department of Education (DepEd) described the Open Educational Resources (OER) as an innovative pathway to connect the disconnected schools with its prime role to support the requirements of the K-12 Curriculum. This paved the way for the researchers to conduct this study that explores the OER readiness level of the 71 secondary school teachers in the School Division of Palawan. Data were gathered through the administration of survey questionnaires via SMS, phone calls, and online platforms. Composite mean and Pearson correlation coefficient were utilized in data analysis. Results showed the teachers’ awareness level of open educational resources is approaching awareness. A moderate positive correlation between the respondents’ educational attainment and their OER level of awareness was also established. The study recommends the strengthening of the conduct of training on open educational resources in order for the teachers to become fully aware of its aspects and devising a training design or OER policy that will encourage teachers the full utilization of OER.

Research on student learning at school can be very useful for improving teaching and learning. Not all learning is the same. Sometimes, for a number of reasons, students avoid the hard work of deep learning and instead fall back a surface learning practice. Blaming students due to their poor performance does not encourage them to engage in their lessons because it only prevented us from applying teaching strategies which may have a positive effect on their learning. Being able to identify these practices allows astute and conscientious educators to diagnose problem in the organization of courses or curricula.
This study aimed to determine the learning approaches of students in Physics. Eighty senior high school students were used as the respondents. There were sets of questionnaires given to them to determine the different learning approaches of students in Physics.
Based on the gathered data, 70% of the populations have shown deep learning though, 30% of them showed surface learning. However, based on the tabulated data, the following skills were seen as weaknesses of students that need mastery. Their approaches to learning on these aspects are surface approach. [1] Interpretation of plotted graphs [2] Derivation of formulas [3] Sketching vector diagrams [4] Solving a variety of Physics problems.
Based on the findings of the study, the researcher has come up with the following recommendation: [1] there must be more time on plotting of graphs (position versus time and velocity versus time) and as much as possible, there will be more practice exercises on plotting of graphs with interpretations. [2] The teacher needs to show the derivations of general formulas in front of the class. He/she needs to give more sample problems where students could be challenged to derive equations for unknown quantities. This could be done during class discussions. [3] The teacher needs more patience and dedication to guide her students on how to draw vector diagrams. [4] The teacher needs to help students review their Algebra and Trigonometry as tools to understand Physics. Selected topics in algebra and Trigonometry should be reviewed during first week of school days. [5]The teacher needs to discuss students’ weaknesses in Mathematics collaboratively with the Mathematics Teachers as feedback to prepare students in Physics course.Keywords

This study used the descriptive research design following the pretest and posttest design with control. The multiple intelligences of the participants were determined through the use of adopted Multiple Intelligences (MI) Inventory Test. The study revealed that student respondents possess varied multiple intelligences that can be appropriate for different teaching strategies.

The study aimed to design a classroom performance evaluation rubric utilizing the learning styles of students in biological sciences subjects. The Grasha-Riechmann Learning Style Scales (GRLSS) was administered to 163 purposively sampled students enrolled in biological sciences subjects to identify their learning styles and to clarify their attitudes and feelings toward the subject they enrolled in. Descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages were used to describe the students learning styles while bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to test the difference based on gender, age, and year level. The study revealed a significant difference in learning styles based on age, year level, and sex. A significant relationship between learning style, age, and year level, and competitive learning style and sex were also found. Significant learning styles were then content analyzed and framework explicated for rubric design.

Having to teach in the college department entails quality time and perseverance to do one’s work or task. It is in this line that teachers or instructors try to find more ways on how to uplift the teaching profession, in consideration of the benefits that their students can possibly get, and apply to their everyday dealings in life. Thus, the objective of this research is to be able to come up with a good workbook or manual, specifically designed for non-science college students that can hone them to become better individuals. This study was done purposely through the administration of the pre-test and post-test of a certain activity from the proposed manual, to be able to gauge well the deeper understanding of the target respondents in their daily dealings with the complexities of life. Science students in general do not have qualms or problems in dealing mostly with science manuals or workbooks, since the topics within are really in line with their field of study or respective courses. Thus, it’s about time that students who do not belong to the science courses be given a chance to be enlightened more about the sciences, specifically with those technological aspect that greatly affects man and the society. The results presented in tables can clearly tell us some reliable factors that can clearly assessed the presence of an updated manual, for easy understanding of technological factors in the society. The compilation of contents in the manual dates back from the development of science, citing the contributions of early scientists to the present ones. Another activity in the manual asks students to enumerate possible problems and solutions to understanding science, which embodies the science education in the Philippines. The alternative sources of energy was also pointed out and some thoughts on gene therapy was also included, and specific issues in science like agriculture , food and drugs were also cited. Higher technological matters were even included like robotics and nanotechnology, which can truly catch the attention of most students, and can make them assess critically of its implications to the society in general. More topics can still be added as time permits. Thus, having a good STS workbook or manual at hand can truly motivate and inspire students to read more, and act in accordance with what is necessarily implied in each activities or exercises.Keywords

Technology is a big part of our daily lives. Many of our daily tasks require the use of technology to make our lives efficient and productive, but the world becomes dependent on it. The world is evolving as a technological society where all information is readily available to the extent that all you need is just one click away, from communication, entertainment, production, infrastructure, security, marketing, innovation, and even education. The technology was introduced by children at an early stage, from learning the alphabet using the cellphone through learning how to talk can be made accessible through technology. There are various researches prove that integrating technology increases student achievements tremendously. Thus, the use of technology in teaching the students these days become a priority in public schools. However, there are researches stated that teachers have an inadequacy in Technological Knowledge (TK) and Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK). Therefore, this research aims to assess the Public School Highschool Science Teachers' Technological Knowledge (TK) and Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) and their willingness to attend a seminar for improvement of their Technological Knowledge (TK) and Technological-Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK). The mixed-method approach used for the study. The qualitative data collected through online google form with an 84.6% retrieval rate from the chosen respondents. The quantitative data collected with the Online TPACK Competencies Survey adopted by Dr. Rebusquillo and qualitative data were collected through Open-Ended Surveys and focus group discussion. A total of 121 Science Teachers comprise the sample chosen randomly. The results of the study show that the level of Technological Knowledge (TK) and Technological-Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) revealed that the Science Teachers are not confident when it comes to Technological-Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) and are fairly confident in Technological Knowledge (TK). Otherwise, the Science Teachers have a high willingness to attend a seminar to improve their Technological Knowledge (TK) and Technological-Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK). The study revealed that the problems encountered by most of the Science Teachers are lack of ability to identify learning strategies in technology-based instruction to meet the objectives based on the students' needs.

Misconceptions are the barriers in the learning of the students. Concepts can be identified in two kinds, namely abstract and concrete ones. Concrete ideas can provide students with direct experience on it while it is difficult for students to perceive abstract ideas due to indirect practices towards it. Teachers take part in a crucial part in the understanding of the students. Therefore, teachers must be mindful of the misconceptions and potential practice to work out the misconceptions. This research aims to identify the misconceptions of science teachers in Chemistry. The study was conducted with 54 science teachers in one of the cities in Metro Manila, Philippines. The mixed-method approach was chosen for the study wherein quantitative data was collected through online google form with 92% retrieval rate from the chosen respondents. A multiple-choice identification test consisting of questions from Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics and Biology adopted from the research of Biilent and Esra study. The 25 items each survey was pilot tested with the 35 science teachers in public schools in Pasig City, Philippines. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient was found to be .971 to test the coefficient of reliability or consistency of the questions in the survey while the qualitative data was collected from the focus group discussion. This research reveals that there are 19 misconceptions out of 25 questions identified in Chemistry. Furthermore, research shows that the number one source of the misconceptions of Science Teachers is the Electronic Media, followed by Textbooks, then the teachers and other sources of misconceptions are peers, parents and colleagues. The researcher suggested that there should be a series of seminars to correct the misconceptions of teachers, there should be a list of credible websites for the teachers’ reference and to provide rigorous seminars for the Secondary School Science Teachers.Keywords

This research aimed to identify the relationship between the perceptions of the students and the level of satisfaction after using DepEd Commons. This study also included the problems encountered by the students in using DepEd Commons. This study used quantitative research, specifically descriptive method of research. The subjects of this study were the one hundred thirty six (136) Grade 12 students taking Physical Science subject at Mataasnakahoy Senior High School. The researchers used questionnaire-checklist as the research instrument in data gathering. The result of the study showed students’ continual learning of the Physical Science subject after the utilization of the platform.

This research study aims to evaluate appraisal systems in the nurses’ place of work, identifying the importance of the appraise and appraiser roles within the process to promote a positive and effective system. The difference in the perception of staff nurses, head nurses/nurse managers, and nurse supervisors in the appraisal system may pose difficulties, and inaccuracy of evaluating self, peers, and staff. Head nurses/nurse managers' high perception of performance appraisal signifies that they are the ones mostly conducting the process. There is clarity in the use of the standard tool for the appraisal process and this is clearly defined and discussed to all stakeholders. Performance appraisal must be the basis for salary increase and promotion. Future studies to include government hospital evaluation of the appraisal system, and the inclusion of patients’ evaluation in the appraisal system is also recommended.

The study of lenses is one of the least mastered skill in Physics. Students find it difficult to understand the concept of lens, ray diagramming and the lens equation. Henceforth, this study proposed a context-based lessons with topic and activities associated with the students’ authentic real life experiences that heightened learners’ enthusiasm and learnings. This research examined the effectiveness of the context-based lesson on students’ motivation level and conceptual understanding on the topic of Lens. This study was conducted at San Isidro National High School for two weeks participated by fifty (50) Grade 10 students. A quasi-experimental research one group pre-test and post-test was implemented to facilitate the collection of data. The following instruments: Lens Test (LT), Science Motivation Questionnaire (SMQ) were used to gather quantitative data. Statistical analysis revealed that there was a significant difference in the pre-test and post-test on academic performance. However, there is no significant difference in the students’ motivation before and after the conduct of the study.Keywords

This research aimed to assess the effectiveness of using guided discovery learning method of teaching in enhancing the academic performance of the students of Mataasnakahoy Senior High School in Earth Science subject. Specifically, it aimed to identify the attitudes of the students regarding the use of guided discovery learning method. This study included the problems encountered by the students in using the method. In addition, it aimed to determine the academic performance of the students in Earth Science before and after the utilization of the guided discovery learning method. This study utilized pre-experimental design, specifically for one group. The subjects of this study were the thirty-two (32) Grade 11 students under Academic Track-Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in Mataasnakahoy Senior High School. The researchers used pre-test and post-test to measure the academic performance of the students before and after the utilization of the method. Then, the researchers administered the survey questionnaire to determine the effectiveness of the guided discovery learning among students. The result of the study showed improvement of the students’ academic performance in Earth Science after the utilization of the teaching method.Keywords

The main objective of this study was to assess the implementation of Science curriculum in Dela Paz National High School considering the performances of learners and Science teachers. The study utilized a research design including descriptive methods of research, survey, documentary analysis and focused group discussion in gathering the needed data.
The learner’s performance reflected in the Science School Achievement Test’s Mean Performance Scores of Grade 7, 8, 9, and 10 during school year 2018-2019 are still far from the required standard for scientific knowledge and skills that could have been learned and developed, enhanced, and retained in the classroom. Also, Science curriculum implementation serves its purpose as viewed by the respondents during lesson execution however some points addressing adequate time of delivering the content, training of teachers to improve learner’s performance, and additional learning materials and facilities can still be considered by curriculum planners for its improvement. Furthermore, teacher’s performance influence the attainment of the science curriculum objectives more than learner’s performance, while others are not a variable to performances of learners and teachers.

This study aimed to determine the effects of clinical supervision on the teaching performance of teachers in senior high school through their Classroom Observation Tool scores. The study employed descriptive experimental design. The study was participated by 18 proficient teachers whose position is teacher I to teacher III. The study employed the classroom observation tool prescribed in the Results-Based Performance Management System-Professional Standards for Teachers (RPMS-PPST) of Department of Education. Classroom observation tool has been utilized to rate teacher’s performance in different indicators. It is composed of nine indicators which served as the focus of observation. Mean, standard deviation and Wilcoxon signed rank test were statistical tools utilized in the study. The first classroom observation focuses on the use of reflective supervision which garnered 5.48 as mean score. The second observation using classroom observation tool with pre, during and post conference garnered a Classroom Observation Tool (COT) mean score of 5.94. The study revealed that teachers have improved performance on their classroom observation tool after employing clinical supervision as depicted in the computed sig value of 0.002. With this, it is encouraged the use of clinical supervision as mode of classroom supervision.

The objective of this study is to understand the effect of digitization of school forms on the stress level and human relations of public secondary school teachers in fifth district of Manila. To answer the study questions, the researcher followed the descriptive correlational method. The sample of the study consisted of (31) teachers of the Manila Secondary Public School Teachers. The relationship between level of familiarity and level of human relations is found to be not significant with Sig. value = 0.188 at α = 0.05. The study shows the ANOVA results where the educational attainment is the grouping variable and the dependent variable is the stress level. It was revealed that there is no significant difference in the stress level when the teachers are grouped according to profile such as educational attainment reflective of the F value of 0.339 with the corresponding probability value of 0.715 which is greater than alpha 0.05. While there is no significant results noted, it is interesting to note that the teachers with master’s degree has the highest mean score when it comes to stress tolerance followed by with bachelor’s degree and doctorate’s degree with the mean value of 0.950 and 0.886 respectively. The study reveals the t-Test for Independent samples for Human Relations in the digitized school forms for male and female teachers. It can be gathered from the table that the male mean score of 3.100 and the female mean score of 3.092 got a computed t-value of 0.025 with the corresponding probability value of 0.981 which is greater than alpha 0.05 is interpreted not significant. Hence, the null hypothesis is accepted. People are all vulnerable to stress due to a lot of stressors that threatens our wellbeing. Going paperless and digitizing school forms will help save money and enhanced teachers productivity as well as promotion of human relations.
The study also recommended the need to hold training courses and workshops for secondary schools in order to deepen the concept of human relations.

Human Relations in an organization are of substantial value in any workplace. The way people relate to one another is one of the key factors that helps to easily comply with the required job need to be done. Planning office of BatStateU has its manual data management and the most pressing problem encountered is the late submission of reports coming from its client offices and observance of standard format on the processing as well as on the construction of data. Due to this, a follow up on each concerned office is personally done by the officer. All in one man, officer process all the required reports with the assistance of a part time secretary. Follow ups on concerned offices is professionally accepted, though expend an extra task to the officer. This study focus on evaluating the major concerns of the planning office, namely: prompt submission, accuracy and consistency of the report, observance of the standard format and ethical response of the client. Self-evaluation on the performance of the client offices was done to balance the concerns. Their recommendations were collated and triangulation was made concerning the different data source in time, space and person. Improvement of the protocol, and development of information system was suggested since Big Data is already involve in the process.Keywords

School infrastructure, facilities, physical arrangements, instructional materials, school staffs, utility workers, health and security, teachers, school administrators and even the community plays a vital role towards the development of every child. The idea of ‘child-friendly school survey’ which was initiated and established by the UNICEF’s studies, was developed evaluation tool and includes all the variables stated above which the Department of Education adopted to evaluate the educational system of each school in the Philippines. This study tries to identify to what extent the students of Rizal Technological University, Boni Campus perceive their school as child-friendly. The mixed method approach was chosen for the study. The qualitative data was collected with ‘Online Child Friendly School Survey’ adopted from DepEd Order No. 44, s. 2015 entitled Guidelines on the Enhanced School Improvement Planning (SIP). A total of 125 students comprise the sample that is chosen randomly. The qualitative data were obtained from the comments and suggestions of the students regarding each parameter. Results revealed that the students evaluated the school as under moderately child-friendly school. The students evaluated that the school should prioritized the improvement of enrollment and competition among students while the students evaluated that the least priority among the entire dimension is the student’s achievement and success. It is recommended that the school should adopt the activities of Department Education like Early Registration Program, Oplan Kalusugan (OK) sa DepEd, School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), National Drug Education Program, Adolescent Reproductive Health Education and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene.

-The new normal has brought changes in the teachinglearning platform. Different modalities are implemented to ensure the continuation of education, but some nations had decided to close their educational system while amidst the pandemic. The Philippines have decided to enter the synchronous and asynchronous modality of learning. This study aimed to know the role of online recitation through forum discussion in the synchronous learning modality. Thirty grade 11 STEM students were chosen purposively for this study. Google Classroom was the online platform used by the researchers, the classwork section of the google classroom was utilized where questions were posted, and responses were placed by the students. Rubric scoring was used to grade the works of students. The result of the study showed that there is no significant difference in the performance of students in terms of participation, quality of posts, plagiarism, and students' attitudes.Keywords
